In Wong Kar Wai's movie 2046, there is a scene where Tony Leung's character writes a story about a train leaving for 2046. He writes that it is especially cold when the train passes through zones 2412 to 2512. Between these two coordinates, people feel extremely lonely. 2412 and 2512, as Leung later reveals, correspond to christmas eve and christmas in (the movie's) reality.
For the past week (Christmas), people have been having problems adding new entries to Diaryland. A FAQ was posted recently by the webmaster, explaining that the problems were caused because'the traffic to the site has increased dramatically in the past week'.
